For the purpose of creating a start order it is
important that rowing coaches make clear the relative ability of the members of
their sculling teams by identifying them as ‘a’, ‘b’, etc – with ‘a’ being the
fastest sculler in any status.
The Entry fee of £10.00 per competitor must be paid
by cheque to the entries secretary before the closing date for entries.
An additional (and separate) cheque equal to £10
per club for up to three boats entered, and £20 per club for those entering
more than 3 boats, must be included to cover the deposit for empacher numbers.
This will be refunded if numbers are returned after the event, or £3 per number
will be deducted for each unreturned number.
No entry will be considered valid until cheques
have been received.
Entries must be made by 5 pm on Wednesday 26th
October 2011. This is in the middle of

PLEASE READ THIS.
Dear Coach
In recent years the number of entries has far
exceeded our limits for the day. We therefore reserve the right to refuse
entries (on a first come first served basis) if numbers exceed our
expectations.
The first division races at 10.30 am. Please note that this will require
boating between 9.00 and 10.00, which in turn means that you must arrive no
later than 8.45 – earlier if you have a large team.
For all divisions coaches must boat their scullers
in time to reach the start well before the race time. It is unfair to those who
do boat on good time if they are delayed by clubs who do not attempt to boat
early enough.
We urge you also to consider the abilities of your
scullers. Whilst we wish to provide good racing for all, it is apparent that
some clubs are still entering competitors who are insufficiently competent to
race in such an event. They reduce the enjoyment of the race and in some cases
are a danger to themselves and other competitors. Please therefore: enter all
competitors/ crews you wish to race, but only if you are totally satisfied with
their competence.
Over recent years it has been necessary on two
occasions to cancel the race due to adverse river conditions. Please keep a
close eye on the event website in the week preceding the event for any late
changes.
We look forward however to good racing conditions
at Pangbourne, and wish you an enjoyable day’s racing.
