Extremely windy conditions greeted the Pangbourne J14 & J15 boys at Birmingham on 25th April. It was a very testing day for all with the course shortened as well as changing direction and for the afternoon due to the wind. Most events ran as a ’round robin’ and so crews stayed on the water and had multiple races until they had raced everyone in their category. The J14 boys squad went on mass and entered doubles, coxed quads and octos whilst the J15 boys squad fielded a single, coxed fours and eights. There were some tight races throughout the day with both squads achieving a few 2nd and 3rd places in their groups. With the conditions taking a turn for the worse, and a J14 coxed quad nearly sinking from all the waves(!), one Felix Wahlberg ‘braved the sea’ in his single and came out on top as the winner of his J15 1x category. Well done!
