PCBC 60th Anniversary Dinner
On Saturday 6th June the Boat Club will be celebrating 60 years of rowing at Pangbourne.
We would like to welcome all OP rowers to join us at the river from 2:45pm when there will be an opportunity for OPs to get out on the river or just have a look around the boathouse. In the evening there will be a formal dinner for current pupils, parents and OPs. We are very pleased to welcome Capt. Heather Stanning as our Guest of Honour for the evening. Heather won Gold in the Women’s Pair at the London Olympics and is also a Captain in the British Army. The evening will begin at 7pm with drinks in the Old Library and the naming of the brand new 8+, followed by dinner in Mess Hall. Tickets for the dinner are available at £30 each. If you would like to attend then please email email@example.com by 12noon on Friday 22nd May. The dress code for the evening is Black Tie.
We are delighted to announce the re-launch of Pangbourne Nautics Boat Club. The aim is to provide a focal point for Old Pangbournian rowers, to arrange Henley Royal Regatta reunions and lunches, and to keep all OP’s informed of the College Boat Club racing programme and fund raising activities.
We are in the process of inviting OP’s to become members of Pangbourne Nautics and to help support the current College BC. For an annual subscription of £30, Nautics members will receive a termly newsletter supplementing the Boat Club website, and will be invited to the Boathouse social events and to reunions at various events throughout the year including the Schools Head of the River and Henley Royal Regatta. As the club grows in size we hope to have a club dinner to celebrate past and present crews and their achievements. We hope that your subscription will allow the Boat Club to support active OP rowers and also support the College Boat Club.
As part of the re-launch we will also be starting a Boat Fund appeal to raise funds for the College Rowing programme. We are seeking bite sized donations from as many people as possible to make it a collective effort and are proposing a £50 donation as a starting point. The Boat Fund will aim to purchase a top quality single scull to initially be loaned to Charles Waite-Roberts (2011) who won a silver medal at the World U23 Championships and is trialling for the GB team for Rio, a training “tub” four, and a top quality coxless pair for the college rowers attending GB trials.
The over-riding theme of Pangbourne Nautics is to celebrate your time at the College and the friendships and bonds made whilst enjoying our splendid sport on our unique and glorious stretch of river. If you would like to join Pangbourne Nautics then please fill in the linked membership form below, or if you would like any more information then please get in touch.
